Calculation of charged particle detection efficiency in detectors

Description
The detection efficiency of protons of up to 350 MeV energy in thick scintillation detectors is calculated. The calculations are realized through the statistical simulation method for particle tracks in the detector substance with respect to their removal due to nuclear reactions and multiple scattering. The calculation satisfactorily describe the experimental efficiency of proton detection by NaI(Tl) crystal
