First physics measurement with Alice at Lhc: Charged-particle pseudorapidity density with the silicon pixel detector
Description
The first measurement that will be carried out with the Alice detector, both in p-p and Pb-Pb collisions, is the charged-particle pseudorapidity density distribution. After a brief introduction on the Alice experiment and the relevance of its measurements, the Silicon Pixel Detector based reconstruction algorithm is described. The developed analysis procedure and the main corrections will be described and applied to a p-p Monte Carlo sample.
