MR of lipid-containing neoplasms
Description
Lipid may be a component of many neoplastic masses, including lipomas, liposarcomas, teratomas, craniopharyngiomas, dermoid, and epidermoid tumors. However, the MR signals may differ depending on the physiologic state of the lipid portion and content of various components. MR studies and 54 corresponding pathologic specimens were retrospectively reviewed. Examples of lipid-containing tumors and their images with different MR parameters are presented to demonstrate the diversity of images. Explanation of differences in signal intensity for various tumors is given when possible
