A new rapid method for determination of free iodide in 131I hippuran

Description
A rapid radiochromatographic method involving an interaction between free iodide and mercuric chloride was developed to determine the radiochemical purity of I-131 Hippuran in hospital pharmacy. The method assures a quality product before it is administered to the patient. The whole procedure takes less than fifteen minutes whereas the usual methods are time consuming and require sophisticated instrumentation. (author)
