Physical and chemical properties of YBa2Cu3O7 thin films

Description

Investigations were carried out to determine the influence of different annealing processes on the superconducting properties of the YBa2Cu3O7 thin films. The samples were produced by means of coevaporation of Cu, Y and Ba on polycrystalline yttria stabilized (YSZ) ZrO2 and single crystal SrTiO3 (001) substrates. Subsequently, the as-deposited films were subjected to two different annealing methods to crystallize the superconducting phase YBa2Cu3O7: (i) heating up, annealing and cooling in an oxygen atmosphere and (ii) heating up in an innert gas atmosphere up to the maximum annealing temperature (Tmax) and then annealing and cooling under oxygen.
