The Monte-Carlo method application in computation studies of fuel compositions with the HTGR coated particles of water-cooled reactors

  • 1. Kurchatov Institute, Moscow (Russian Federation). Russian Research Center

Description

The computation results of neutronics characteristics of the water-cooled reactor cell with graphite fuel rods containing HTGR coated particles are presented in this paper. The calculations performed by the MCU-RFFI code have allowed verification of the FLY code using those fuel compositions in a great many calculations and have shown that the minute particle blocking effect is practically lacking in the cylindrical cells with water.
