Improving of quality of continuous castings for thick-sheet rolling

Description

Problems on further improvement of quality of thick-sheet rolling of critical component prepared of continuous castings connected with peculiarities of the macrostructure of cast slabs and certain parameters of the axial zone are analysed. Low deformation capability in the direction of thickness of thick-sheet rolling prepared of the continuous castings is shown to lead to the appearance of axial stratifications when sheet cutting, when full-sized samples are tested to bending, as well as to the formation of discontinuities in the sheet near-the-edge zones being neighbouring to defect areas of welded joints. It is possible to provide the level of properties in the direction of thick-sheet rolling of critical component prepared of the continuous coating, as well as to avoid the possibility of the formation of deformation stratifications, if one uses complex technology aimed at maximum decrease of axial chemical inhomogeneity of cast slabs, and at limitation of harmful impurity concentration and most of sulphur and hydrogen in liquid steel
