Description
Preparation of bulky potassium titanyl phosphate crystals by top-seeded solution growth is briefly reported. Some aspects of visualizing the ferroelectric-domain structure by pyroelectric measurements, selective chemical etching, and scanning electron microscopy are described. Macroscopic polarization of crystals is shown to vary in a wide range depending on growth conditions and structure imperfections. Three types of domain structures were identified by the dimensions and polarization magnitudes. Each type takes its origin from certain structure defects
