Mathematical model for an integrated nuclear power system
Description
A mathematical model associated to an integrated nuclear power system constituted by two sub-systems, namely: a first one represented by PHWRs and LMFBRs, and a second one represented by PWRs and the same LMFBRs is presented. It is assumed that both sub-systems are developing in a first stage only in thermal variants, and in a second stage in an integrated (mixed) thermal-fast variant. The development of a fast reactor is allowed by the amounts of Pu reprocessed in the nuclear system. The independent variables of the model are the development periods of the sub-systems and the time variable, while the dependent variables are the produced year energy amounts and year energy specific cost prices. The paper is illustrated by numerous numerical results obtained by application of the integrated nuclear power system mathematical model, which allow a lot of different conclusions. (author)
