Description
D-T experiment of TFTR has been performed by the successful operation of the tritium system at TFTR. The main purposes of the tritium system are delivery of tritium into the torus through TNBI, recovery of tritium from the cell and the cryopanels of NBI, the management of the waste tritium and the purification of tritium with complete containment of tritium to assure the safety of the TFTR D-T experiment. Many severe tests and improvements have been required to realize the 1st stage of the D-T experiment from Nov. 93 to Dec. 94. A brief presentation of the facts and experiences is described to demonstrate the significance of the tritium handling technology for the nuclear fusion development. (author)
