On the estimation of viscosity of glass-forming silicate melts in wide composition range

Description
Conditions of applying the method on estimating the viscosity temperature dependence of oxide and glass melts are considered in wide composition range. Methods in counting for structural factors with the purposes of the calculation error reduction are proposed. Requirements to selection of glasses-components and methods on estimating the reliability of their viscosity are considered. the method on imaginary components and the method on forecasting ordinary glasses by viscosity of multicomponent ones are developed and tested for enhancing the data bank on standard glasses. The second method may be of independent significance for estimating, for example, the viscosity of glasses, the synthesis where of is technically impeded. 15 refs.; 6 tabs
