Determination of conversion nonlinearity for x-ray detectors

  • 1. All-Union Sci-Res Design and Tech. Institute of Cable Industry, Moscow

Description

A method is proposed for determining the degree of conversion nonlinearity for x-ray detectors in recording of polychromatic beams in the current mode. The method is based on measurement of the ratio of integrated energy fluxes according to the dependence of the effective attenuation factor on the thickness of the attenuator. The range of relative flux variation is 100-2x103 and the error of attenuation-factor determination is circa equal to or less than 0.5%. Dependence of the conversion nonlinearity of a scintillation detector on the exposure time in a direct beam before measurements is detected
