Ringhals No. 2 - steam generator repair/replacement options
Description
A report is given of steam generator operation experience in Ringhals No. 2 PWR nuclear power plant. A study carried out to find the cause of corrosion and to make a steam generator performance prognosis is presented. The screening of different remedies and the final selection of options is described. After taking into account technical aspects and evaluating operational economy and radiation exposure during the remaining life of the unit, the replacement of the steam generators in Ringhals No. 2 was found to be the optimum solution.
