Material for in vivo detection of cardiac damage

Description

A material for in vivo detection of cardiac damage is an antibody specific to cardiac troponin (Tn-l). The material is preferably radio labelled and may be a Fab fragment of a polyclonal or a monoclonal antibody. The material is obtained by isolation of cardiac Tn-l by its affinity to troponin-C, introduction of the isolated Tn-l into a host animal and separation of the cardiac specific Tn-l antibody from crude immunoglobulin. Troponin-C is readily available from skeletal muscle. (author)
