Study and characterization of laser induced plasma of tantalum

Description
Tantalum emission spectra have been recorded in atmosphere using Nd-YAG pulse laser using spatio-temporal resolved optical emission spectroscopy technique. Emission spectra were recorded in the range of 380- 600 nm. The spatial and temporal behavior of the produced tantalum plasma has been investigated. Excitation temperature and electron density have been estimated from the analysis of spectral data as well as their spatio-temporal evolutions using Boltzmann plot and Saha-Boltzmann equation (SBE) methods. Laser-supported consumption wave regime has been proposed to explain the propagation of the plasma in air.(author)
