Pressure and temperature fluctuation in swirling flow boiling heat transfer
Description
An internal twisted tape is a very effective method of cooling components which undergo high heat flux in a fusion reactor. In this study, a swirled channel made of a SUS 304 stainless steel pipe, with a twisted aluminum tape inside was tested on its CHF characteristics. The wall temperature measurements were performed at the axial distances of 40, 70, 100, and 130 mm from the inlet of the heating tube, and pressure transducer were settled at inlet and outlet of heating tube. In straight flow, wall temperature from downstream to upstream fluctuated with same period near CHF. In swirling flow CHF, fluctuation occurred only near the exit of the heated channel independently.
