The MINOS Experiment
Description
The MINOS (Main Injector Neutrino Oscillation Search) Experiment is a long baseline neutrino oscillation experiment using the Fermilab Main Injector neutrino beam and two detectors, one located at Fermilab and a second located 730 km away in Soudan, MN. The experiment is designed to probe neutrino oscillations at the value of Δm2 suggested by atmospheric neutrino results, and will measure the oscillation parameters with high precision, search for sub-dominant vμ → ve mixing with unprecedented accuracy, and study possible CPT-violating oscillation scenarios with atmospheric neutrinos
