On the non-spherical structure of the nova nebulosity

Description
The observed non-spherical structure of the material ejected during the nova outburst is caused by material expanding off the surface of the white dwarf and colliding with the ring of material that surrounds the white dwarf. The forbidden emission line ratios suggest a higher equatorial density which supports this hypothesis.
