Description

The author comments on the reaction of 3rd World countries to European food shipments after Chernobyl, remarks on the dangers of rejecting anecdotal evidence that does not fit into scientific models of risk assessment, and comments on the present conference agenda where ionizing and non-ionizing radiation is considered in relation to risk assessment. The adjustment of future attitudes to risk assessment of long-term health damage and genetic effects, dose limits and radiation monitoring is discussed. (U.K.)
