Radiation defects in sulfates of alkali and alkali-earth metals

Description
It is investigated by luminescent methods mechanisms of creation of initial radiation defects in sulfates. It is shown, that in the irradiated sulfates at low temperature the basic mechanism of creation of defects is localization of electrons and holes on anion complexes. Defect formation near room temperatures should be connected to direct disintegration of the exited anion complexes (SO42-) on SO3-va-e- and O0 centers. (author)
