Multivariable approach to boiling water nuclear reactor stability
Description
The stability margin of Boiling Water Nuclear Reactors (BWR) was analyzed for the instability mechanism of density wave oscillations. In contrast to the traditional approach which relies on a single-input single-output (SISO) approach a multi-input, mulit-output (MIMO) approach is presented. Potential limitations of the SISO approach are discussed and illustrated by means of a simple example. Finally, an alternate criteria for stability margins with numerical results for a linearized model of a BWR are presented
