Generation of stationary current in a plasma by lower-hybrid waves

Description
Problem of generation of stationary current in plasma lower-hybrid waves with rectilinear spectrum was considered in the linear approximation. Linearized two-dimensional kinetic equation in velociy space for electron distribution function was reduced to one-dimensional by the Legendre polynomial expansion. Numerical solution of complete equation and analytical solution of asymptotic equation have been found. The calculations performed permitted to determine effect of spectrum width of excited waves on current generation efficiency. The analytical solution agrees well with the numerical solution of the problem
