Description

Position information is obtained with position-sensitive detectors employing resistive electrodes by the basically dissimilar rise-time readout charge-division methods. The first of these methods is discussed. Computer analysis has been employed to investigate the performance of various filters with respect to position information and linearity, for the unterminated case. The filter time-constants can be chosen to optimize either linearity, or resolution. In the latter case, a non-linear data display can be used in order to linearize the position information, so that optimal resolution and linearity can be achieved simultaneously
