High temperature and steam sealing property of the containment vessel for improved EPDM rubber (EP-176)
Description
In Japan, the sealing material of containment vessel is using silicone rubber. Silicone rubber has a high heat resistance and radiation resistance. In recent years, at the time of severe accidents, containment vessel is not only a gas containing a high temperature of radioactive materials has been found that the steam is also filled. However, silicone rubber is not high steam resistance. Overseas, containment vessel for rubber has also been adopted EPDM rubber. We therefore, for the silicone rubber and conventional EPDM rubber and improved EPDM rubber that has been developed for nuclear, compression set test and a high temperature, and performs a seal test in steam, characteristics were evaluated.
