Description
The dependence of track density on sample activity was found for alpha particle detection using track detector Kodak LR 115 (13 μm nitrocellulose to 100 μm polyester pad). Detection efficiency is a function of alpha particle energy and the angle of their incidence on the detector surface. Its value depends on the method of track development (recommended is a 2.5 N solution of NaOH at a temperature of 40 degC). A table was processed from experimental data on the coefficients of an approximation formula for the detection efficiency for polyenergetic alpha particles in a 2π configuration of a thick sample.
