Deuteration dependence of the central peak in KDP-type ferroelectrics
Description
The Ising model in a transverse field is treated by means of the Green's function technique to calculate the dynamical structure factor below and above T/sub c/ in KDP- and DKDP-type ferroelectrics. Deuteration causes a decreasing in the frequency of the soft-ferroelectric mode and an increasing in the spin-spin damping. The underdamped character of the soft mode disappears on deuteration. In KD2PO4 the peak around the soft mode is absent and the ferroelectric mode spectra below and above T/sub c/ consist only of the central peak around E = 0. All obtained results are in very good agreement with the experimental data. (author)
