State density in disordered models

Description
An approximation was developed to calculate the state density through the knowledge of eigenvalues and eigenstates, starting from a tight-binding model representation for disordered hypercubic lattices in direct product of one-dimensional structures. Numerical data are given for the binary alloy, where the peak structure of the minoritary band is reproduced' and, for the Gaussian disorder, the exponential behaviour of the state density tail is correctly obtained. Abstract (Spanish)
Se desarrollo, a partir de una representacion del modelo tight-binding para redes hipercubicas desordenadas en producto directo de estructuras unidimensionales, una aproximacion que permite calcular la densidad de estados a traves del conocimiento de autovalores y autoestados en una dimension. Dado que esta basada en las propiedades de localizacion en cadenas desordenadas, la aproximacion trabaja bien en la region de parametros donde CPA falla. Se presentan resultados numericos para la aleacion binaria, donde se reproduce la estructura de picos de la banda minoritaria, y para el desorden gaussiano, donde se obtiene correctamente el comportamiento exponencial de la cola de la densidad de estados.
