Description
Dose-response relationships of x-rays and 14.1 MeV neutrons were compared in terms of genetic changes such as recombination of chromatid, point mutation including deletion, and chromosomal nondisjunction by using somatic mutation induction in Drosophila melanogaster (mwh/flr strain). Relative biological effects (RBE) of 14.1 MeV neutrons to x-rays were remarkable. RBE values were 4.06, 2.89, and 2.27 with 14.1 MeV neutrons of 0.99, 2.22, and 5.00 Gy, respectively. (Namekawa, K.)
