Restoration of nucleic acid metabolism in the bone marrow and spleen of rats at later times after long-term fractionated irradiation

  • 1. Institut Biofiziki, Moscow (USSR)

Description

A study was made of the content and rate of biosynthesis of nucleic acids in the bone marrow and spleen, the mitotic activity of splenocytes and the lienogram of rats during a year after the end of fractionated irradiation with cumulative doses of 9.7 and 19.4 Gy. It was shown that the completeness of restoration of the parameters changed by irradiation depended upon radiation dose received by the animals. Inhibition of prolife-- rative processes in the bone marrow was noted a year after irradiation with a dose of 19.4 Gy
