Report on mass miniature radiography of the Augsburg population

4.6/10,000 cases of active tuberculosis were discovered in the course of the legally prescribed mass miniature radiography carried out among the Augsburg population in 1975/76. Examination of the family and other contacts of these fresh cases covered 403 persons, resulting in the discovery of 1.5% further cases of tuberculosis in need of treatment, thus increasing the total result of the mass miniature radiography to 5/10,000. Furthermore, 3/10,000 pulmonary tumours were discovered. Follow-ups upto two years revealed a mainly favourable result in tuberculosis patients and a predominantly unfavourable courses in tumour patients. (orig.)
