Calculations of the neutron energy distribution at various depths in a steel shield
Creators
Description
Calculations were carried out to estimate the neutron energy spectrum at different points inside a steel shield irradiated by 14 MeV neutrons using the neutron transport code DOT 3.5 and the multigroup cross-section data from the EURLIB-I data set. The work formed part of a Benchmark Shielding Experiment in which measurements of neutron spectra with activation and fission foils were compared with theoretical predictions. (author)
