X-ray spectra of CuFeS2
- 1. Institute of Metal Physics, Ural (USSR)
Description
The optical and electrical properties of the magnetic semiconductor CuFeS2 are different from the analogous properties of other chalcopyrite-type semiconductors. In the present work they studied a natural chalcopyrite (from a pyrite deposit) through x-ray absorption and emission spectra. X-ray fluorescence K spectra were obtained by a photographic method. Emission La bands were obtained using electron excitation. The relative location of the density maxima of iron and copper 3d states in chalcopyrite has been established. The existence of iron and copper atoms of different valencies has been demonstrated
