Monoenergetic neutron production below 20MeV with Van de Graaff accelerators
Description
The main parameters influencing the production of intense monoenergetic neutron sources below 20MeV with Van de Graaff accelerators are analyzed: choice of the reaction, secondary reactions, neutron production cross sections, neutron energy spread. The neutron yields for a given neutron energy spread are deduced for the useful reactions employed with solid or gaseous targets
