Measurement of the 152Eu activity
Description
Consideration is given to the method for measurement of 152Eu activity, used for manufacture of standard spectrometric gamma-sources. 152Eu has two branches of decay: electron capture to excited levels of 152Sm (72.1%) and β-decay to excited levels of 152Gd (27.9%). Extrapolation method of 4π(kx+e)-γ-coincidences is suggested for measuring activity of 152Eu radionuclide with complicated decay scheme. Conditions of its application for obtaining reliable results are shown
