Low-lying (≤ 5 eV)229Th isomer excitation cross section by a laser beam via the inverse electronic bridge

Description
In this work the excitation cross section of the low-lying 229Th isomeric level with energy ≤ 5 eV by optical photons via the inverse electronic bridge is calculated with in framework of QED. It was found that the efficiency of pumping of the pointed level by laser beam can be closed to 1. The experimental scheme for determining of the low-lying 229mTh isomer characteristics and disintegration channels is discussed
