Equipment for automatic drift stabilisation in intensity measurement of nuclear radiation with radiation detectors
Description
A circuit is described for the automatic stabilisation of intensity measurement of nuclear radiation from, for example, a Cs 137 source, which radiates through a mass medium (e.g. the coolant) for determining its thickness or density, and then reaches a detector. The circuit contains two integral discriminators for this purpose with different sensitivities, where the lower sensitivity represents the Compton threshold. The other discriminator is a comparison threshold. The special voltage is set automatically so that the ratio of discriminator pulse rates remains constant and the Compton radiation does not exceed the Compton threshold. The deviation of the ratios from the given reference value form the control parameter. (DG) 891 HP

Es wird eine Schaltungsanordnung beschrieben, zur automatischen Driftstabilisierung der Intensitaetsmessung von Kernstrahlung aus z.B. einer Cs-137-Quelle, die zur Bestimmung der Dicke oder Dichte eines Messmediums (z.B. Kuehlmittels) dieses durchstrahlt und auf einen Detektor auftrifft. Die Schaltung enthaelt hierzu zwei Integral-Diskriminatoren mit unterschiedlicher Ansprechempfindlichkeit, wobei der mit der niedrigeren Ansprechempfindlichkeit die Compton-Schwelle darstellt. Der andere Diskriminator ist eine Vergleichsschwelle. Die Sonderspannung wird automatisch so eingestellt, dass das Verhaeltnis der Impulsraten der Diskriminatoren konstant bleibt und somit die Compton-Strahlung die Compton-Schwelle nicht ueberschreitet. Die Abweichung des Verhaeltnisses zur vorgegebenen Sollwert bildet hierbei die Stellgroesse. (DG)Files
