Peculiarities in crystallization of Sm33Fe67 amorphous alloy

  • 1. Irkutskij Pedagogicheskij Inst., Irkutsk (USSR)

Description

Structural changes under polymorphous crystallization of Sm33Fe67 amorphous alloy are studied. The crystallization process is shown to originate in the surface layers of the investigated samples. This is followed by occurrence of stresses due to difference between specific volumes of amorphous and crystalline phases. Stress growth under further annealing results in plastic deformation of SmF2 grains, formation of their substructure, which elements have laminated character. Effect of structural changes during annealing of Sm33Fe67 amorphous alloy on formation of perpendicular anisotropy is discussed
