Usefulness of MRI with Gd-DTPA on brain tumors
- 1. Kumamoto Univ. (Japan). School of Medicine
Description
Gd-DTPA, a new contrast medium for MRI, was used on eighteen patients with brain tumor. Evaluation was performed on the characteristics and usefulness of Gd-DTPA. The basic experiment revealed that MRI has high sensitivity for Gd-DTPA, while clinical study showed that MRI with Gd-DTPA was superior to CT with iodinated contrast medium in relation to tumor delineation. Gd-DTPA has been demonstrated to be a useful contrast medium for MRI. (author)
