Need to implement amendments on nuclear insurance

A symposium devoted to nuclear third party liability and insurance to be held in Munich from 10 to 14 September 1984 is discussed. The symposium will provide a forum for discussing the fundamental principles of the nuclear operator's liability, the revaluation of compensation amounts, the present and future role of insurance and the concept of nuclear damage. The new problems created by the decommissioning of nuclear installations and the long-term management of radioactive waste will also be examined. Principal aspects of international nuclear liability law are described. (U.K.)
