Semiclassical theory of rotational excitation in collisions of diatomic molecules

Description
In previous developments of the theory of rotational excitation in collisions of diatomic molecules, the cross sections have been expressed in terms of a generalized phase shift. In the present paper, the equations which determine the successive terms in a semiclassical expansion of the generalized phase shift are discussed and the first two equations are developed explicitly
