Blowdown flow in the BWR BDHT test apparatus

Description

Blowdown tests were conducted in the Two-Loop Test Apparatus (TLTA) used in the BWR-Blowdown Heat Transfer Program (BDHT). The purpose of these tests was to investigate the effects of flow length on the nozzles used in the TLTA to simulate BWR blowdown response. The tests were initiated from 1000 psia with subcooled and low-quality upstream fluid conditions. The test results demonstrate the importance of flow length on critical blowdown flow
