Optimum counting geometries of uniform and large γ-sources for Ge(Li) detectors
Description
An experimental approach is presented to the definition of the optimum counting geometries of large γ-sources for true-coaxial and closed-end detectors. The optimum simple geometries for 500 and 1000 cm3 are reported, that allow for large efficiency gains with respect to standard geometries. Results can be easily extended to a wide range of experimental conditions. (author)
