Spin ordering in FeBr2 and FeI2. Evidence for first order phase transition in FeI2
Description
Moessbauer measurements of the hyperfine interaction on 57Fe in single crystals of FeI2 and FeBr2 are reported. Spectra were taken as function of temperature both with and without external magnetic field applied along the c-axis. From the data it is concluded that transition from anti-ferromagnetic to paramagnetic phase is a first order transition. (Auth.)
