A direct manipulation system-process interface
Description
This paper reports on the reactor flux control which regulates nuclear fission and thereby the heat into the thermodynamic cycle in the plant. A direct manipulation type interface for the reactor flux control integrates system variables and process variables to form a computer-driven model-based display of the control function. The animation of the control system's interaction with the process reduces the operator's cognitive workload in monitoring, interpreting, and controlling the process
