Relation of energetic electron precipitation to longitudinal currents and to westward electrojet
Creators
Description
Relation of energetic electron and proton (>30 keV) precipitation to longitudianl currents, with westward electrojet position in substorms active phase, is investigated on the basis of measurements conducted by means of Kosmos-426 11-12 and 22-25.11.1971, Kosmos-900, Interkosmos-17 1-2.12.1977 satellites. Maximal fluxes of precipitating energetic electrons occur within the flowing-out current region. Maximal fluxes of protons mainly precipitate in the region of inflowing current. At the substorm active phase the energetic electron maximal fluxes are recorded at the westward electrojet front edge
