Description

Isomers near the predicted N = 40 sub-shell closure in /sup 63/ Ni, /sup 65/ Ni, and /sup 67/ Ni have been populated in the fragmentation of a /sup 76/ Ge, 8.56 MeV/u beam onto a thickness of the 4.3 mg/cm/sup 2/ /sup 198/ Pt target at Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute. Here we report the precise results for the half-life of the vg/sub 9/2/ + isomers in /sup 63,65,67/ Ni nuclei. The systematic studies of the reduced transition probabilities for the M2 transition between 9/2/sup +/ and 5/2/sup -/ has been investigated. The B(M2) values are in general consistent with previous measurements. (author)
