Present status of multiple prompt gamma-ray analysis and its future directions

Description
The present status and the future plan on the development of facility of MPGA (Multiple Prompt Gamma-ray Analysis) in JRR-3M are described. The utilization plan in J-PARC (Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex) is also outlined on the beam line for the neutron reaction experiments and MPGA. In JRR-3M, four detectors were set, the apparatus for rapid data collection being almost completed. The gamma-ray data base for each nucleus and the development of softs for quantitative analysis have been started. The introduction of four sets of clover-type detectors was further planned. The development of softs will be completed. In J-PARC, the research and development of nuclear data for the new reactor has been promoted using the pulse neutron source with high intensity. (M.H.)
