Phase relations in the Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-M-O (M = Y, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu) systems

Description
One studied the phase relations in Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-M-O (M - Y, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu) within the limited range of compositions near to Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+x (Bi-2212) within 850-990 deg C temperature interval. It is shown that in case of REE with long ionic radius (Y, Dy, Ho, Er) REE substitutes for calcium in Bi-2212 with CaO formation. In case of REE with a shorter ionic radius (Tm, Yb, Lu), the degree of calcium substitution is a lower one and Sr2MBiO6 phase is formed. The temperature of superconducting transition of Bi-2212 specimens alloyed by REE is the maximum one for Lu and drops rapidly with increase of REE radius
Abstract (Russian)
Изучено фазообразование в системах Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-M-O (M - Y, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu) в ограниченной области составов, прилегающих к Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+x (Bi-2212), в интервале температур 850-990 град С. Показано, что в случае РЗЭ с большим ионным радиусом (Y, Dy, Ho, Er) происходит замещение кальция в Bi-2212 на РЗЭ с выделением CaO. В случае РЗЭ с меньшим ионным радиусом (Tm, Yb, Lu) степень замещения кальция ниже, и образуется фаза Sr2MBiO6. Темпрература сверхпроводящего перехода образцов Bi-2212, легированных РЗЭ, максимальна для Lu и быстро падает с увеличением радиуса РЗЭAdditional details
