Description

Poly(methyl methacrylate)-CuO microspheric particles with core-shell structure were synthesized by a chemical solution process within Cu(NO3)2/NH3.H2O reaction system. The composition and microstructure of the samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. It showed that the shell was constructed by leaf-like CuO grains with the length of 500-800 nm. UV-vis absorbance spectra of the samples exhibited novel wide adsorption band in ultraviolet region.
