Description
The industrial environmental impacts expressed as contamination of the environment (water, soil, air) are present in Makedonska Kamenitsa. The most severe problems are primary seen in pollution of waters and agricultural soils in the region by heavy toxic metals, due to the operation of mines for lead and zinc Sasa 'MR'. Namely, the uncontrolled release of the useless material from the hydro - waste site is the cause for enormous pollution of surrounding soils including water and air indirectly. In this paper we present the results of the investigations on the heavy metals content in the river mud performed at the entrance of Kamenichka river as well as the river of Bregalnitsa into the Kalimantsi accumulation.
